Industry notables join panel at GIA’s New York Jewelry Career Fair

GIAGem and jewelry’s largest recruiting event will take place July 25 at the Javits Center

(NEW YORK) - Prominent personalities from the gem and jewelry industry will join GIA at the Jacob Javits Center in New York for the Institute’s annual Jewelry Career Fair on July 25. The not-to-miss opening panel will feature industry veterans and rising stars, each with a unique and inspiring path to success. The leading industry event is free for job seekers and open to the public; anyone interested in attending is urged to register prior to the event.


4th annual Rings of Strength Tour: Walking, running, biking and yoga to support Jewelers for Children

JFC July(NEW YORK) - Jewelers for Children held the 4th annual Rings of Strength Tour on Thursday, June 2, at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. More than 160 participants assembled at 5:30 a.m. to either walk or run 5K, or bike one of two courses, a leisurely 15K route or a challenging 50K route. An option for yoga was also available. Participants who signed up built their own fundraising websites and collected more than $50,000 to support Jewelers for Children.

JCK Vegas(NORWALK, Conn.) - Going out with the heat, JCK Las Vegas concluded its 26th edition on Monday, June 6. The show welcomed the best of the best in the jewelry industry with over 2,400 exhibiting brands and manufacturers, as well as an abundant lineup of industry networking opportunities and informative panel discussions. Highlights from the show include a newly designed show floor, complete with product “Neighborhoods” for easy shopping; a reorganized Design Center, with additional new talent of aspiring design students alongside 21 Rising Stars; and an undeniable focus on lifestyle, the future of retail, and merchandising educational content.

Jewelers for Children celebrates 18 years, honors Stuart Lee and Dennis Ulrich

Facets(NEW YORK) - On June 5, 2016, Jewelers for Children (JFC) held the 18th Annual Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The charity announced that $3.1 million had been raised to support their charity partners in the year ahead and that since 1999 $51.4 million had been donated on behalf of the industry to help children in need. “What an amazing milestone for the charity, and particularly for our industry,” said Dennis Ulrich, JFC board chair and one of the evening’s honorees. “Over the past 18 years, we have touched the lives of so many thousands of children and their families.”

JA accepting GEM Awards nominations

Submissions for the 50th Annual GEM Awards are being accepted in five categories

(NEW YORK) - Jewelers of America (JA), the national association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has announced that submissions are being accepted in five categories for the 15th Annual GEM Awards gala taking place on January 13, 2017, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. The GEM Awards honor the achievements of individuals and companies whose work raises the visibility of fine jewelry and watches. New for 2017: the GEM Award for Influencer of the Year, given to a blogger or social media personality who encourages consumer engagement and generates consumer desire for jewelry and watches through their high-quality content on social media platforms.

Swiss Watch by JCK and LUXURY Watch to sponsor Time for Kids

JFC logoSwiss Watch by JCK and the new LUXURY Watch will be sponsoring Time for Kids, the annual watch giveaway during the Jewelers for Children Facets of Hope event. Every attendee at the Facets of Hope event on June 5, 2016 at Mandalay Bay will be given a chance to win one of an array of donated watches. All of the watches will come from participants in Swiss Watch and LUXURY Watch.
