Rings of Strength reaches five year milestone

Rings of strength July

(NEW YORK) - Jewelers for Children (JFC) held the 5th installment of the Rings of Strength Tour on Sunday, June 4, at Mandalay Bay Resort Casino in Las Vegas. More than 160 participants assembled at 5:30 a.m. to either walk or run 5K, or bike one of two courses, a leisurely 15K route or a challenging 50K route. An option for yoga was also available. Participants who signed up built their own fundraising websites and collected more than $30,000 to support JFC. The event has now raised over $300,000 in five years.

“I don’t think we ever envisioned that five years later the event would have become so popular with folks,” said Debra Puzio, JFC’s Vice President for Special Programs. “It’s such a great way for everyone to be involved, not just executives. It allows folks to feel truly part of helping children in need.”

The event attracted individuals, as well as teams, of industry supporters. Teams were organized by Quality Gold, Blue Nile, American Gem Society Laboratories, Absolute Brilliance, JCK Las Vegas, StarLuxe, Jewelers of America, Frederick Goldman, Jane Basch Designs, the Women’s Jewelry Association, Ben Bridge Jeweler, Brinks, Sy Kessler Sales, and Buyer’s Intelligence Group. The top fundraising team was the Quality Gold team and they won a prize package provided by JCK Events.

Sponsors for the event included JCK Events, JIS Exchange, Luxury, Brinks, Assurant, Freeman Expo Service, CMAC Transportation, StarLuxe, and ASHI Diamonds.

Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need.
