Gem and jewelry leaders gather for GIA’s Global Leadership Program at Harvard Business School

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - Executives from across the global gem and jewelry industry recently convened in Cambridge, Mass., for the fourth annual GIA Global Leadership Program offered by the Harvard Business School (HBS). The 50 industry leaders - all CEOs or senior executives - examined the theme “Transforming Business by Leveraging Big Data,” applying lessons learned from cases highlighting the impact of transformative data-driven businesses like Uber and Amazon. GIA and HBS will include themes and insights from the Global Leadership Program as part of the business track for the GIA International Gemological Symposium to be held in Carlsbad, CA, in October 2018.

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - GIA’s (Gemological Institute of America) annual Jewelry Career Fair and Open House will take place Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Institute’s world headquarters in Carlsbad, CA. This free event connects aspiring gem and jewelry professionals with nearly 40 recruiters, ranging from global brands to local companies - including Tiffany & Co., Stuller, JTV, Leo Hamel and GIA - looking to hire for a variety of positions. Job seekers will have the opportunity for face-to-face career coaching and will hear from prominent industry leaders at the must-see panel presentations.

JIS RELOCATES 2017 OCTOBER SHOW TO FT. LAUDERDALE

ANNOUNCES $250,000 INVESTMENT TOWARDS CUSTOMER SUCCESS

(NORWALK, Conn.) – Set to open in less than two weeks the JIS October 2017 Show will relocate to Ft. Lauderdale after receiving news from the Miami Beach Convention Center that it would be unavailable to host the event due to status of the construction project and Hurricane Irma. The show will now take place over the same dates (Sunday, October 8 – Wednesday, October 11, 2017) at the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, just 30 miles north of Miami. For those that attended JIS January and JIS April 2017, they already know the waterfront venue well as it hosted those two successful JIS events earlier in the year.
