TJA examines gemstone treatments at Annual Conference

TJA VillanuevaThe Tennessee Jewelers Association (TJA) hosted its Annual Conference on June 25 at the New Approach School for Jewelers in Franklin, TN. Understanding that maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the ever-changing gemstone industry can be quite challenging, the TJA brought in gemstone expert Mark Villanueva R.G.A., C.S.P., A.J.P. to discuss synthetics, treatments and enhancements in today’s diamond and gemstone industry.

(NEW YORK) - The brightest luminaries in the gem and jewelry industry met with emerging talent during GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair on July 25 in New York. The annual event sponsored by JA New York drew 600 - including notable personalities, GIA students, recruiters and jewelry enthusiasts - to the Javits Center for the industry’s preeminent recruiting and networking fair. Job seekers had the opportunity to meet with 42 companies looking to fill hundreds of open positions and 24 career coaches with specialized expertise.

Jewelers of America celebrates designer jewelry 3rd annual “Wear One” featured eight supplier members

JA staff(NEW YORK) - Jewelers of America (JA), a leading jewelry association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, hosted their third annual “Wear One” cocktail party on July 23 at the Yale Club in New York. Wear One, a festive celebration of jewelry and the inspiration behind beautiful collections, was open exclusively to JA Retail Members and press. Guests were able to view select pieces of jewelry and hear about the design inspirations from the following participants: Christopher Designs, Cultured Pearl Association of America, Drukker Designs, Leo Ingwer, Lilly Street, Scott West for L.J. West Diamonds, Rio Diamond Manufacturing Corp. and Spencer Fine Jewelry.

JIS to relocate to Ft. Lauderdale during Miami Beach Convention Center renovation

(NORWALK, Conn.) - Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) provides the jewelry industry with three impressive buying and selling opportunities each year at the Miami Beach Convention Center - JIS Miami January, JIS Miami April and JIS Miami October (October being the 2nd largest jewelry trade show in the Western Hemisphere and the largest JIS event of the year).

Retailers “ready to buy” at the Atlanta Jewelry Show

Atlanta model 400The doors of the Atlanta Jewelry Show opened to models draped with pearls, welcoming buyers to a bright show floor brimming with new products and collections from first-time and long-time vendors. Held from August 6 to 8 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, the show’s robust agenda of events included educational programs and interactive seminars, access to business resources, and multiple opportunities for networking all served up with a generous helping of Southern hospitality.
