24 Karat Corner – News and Views from the 24 Karat Club Southeastern U.S.: Another round of margaritas?

Reading Time: 3 minutes

When the waiter asks, “Another round of Margaritas?,” the correct answer is always, “Yes, please!”  Ah, if only all questions were this easy and all of our problems could be answered with a simple two word reply.

Goldman Sachs, the venerable Wall Street firm has a list of business principles. First and foremost on the list: Our clients’ interests always come first. Our experience shows that if we serve our clients well, our own success will follow. Goldman Sachs has been a world leader for over 100 years following this simple formula.

There are a million guys who will tell you how to run your business.  They write columns in trade magazines (spoiler alert:  I’m guilty), hold seminars at trade shows, and sell you books and CDs. They’ll tell you how to greet the customer when she walks in, how to price her repair, and how to run the software to print up her receipt.

The guy you want to meet, however, is the guy who will tell you why.  Why he gets up early to be in the shop hours before opening.  Why he’s still there well after closing time, and then rushes off to a school board meeting or something that runs past midnight.  And, does it all over again the next day.

At The 24 Karat Club, we never lose sight of the fact that we are stewards of an industry leading institution that has been built over 40 years.  Our members are industry experts who have pledged their time and resources for the benefit of the jewelry industry.  With a strong emphasis on scholarship and education, The 24 Karat Club knows that by serving our industry, we will all share in the success that follows.

And, should you have a question or problem that can’t be answered with a simple two word reply, our members are at your service.  When you have committed jewelry professionals like the members of The 24 Karat Club at your side, you’ll not only get a straight answer, you’ll get it from someone who not only knows how, but why.

As we get older, and our world becomes more complex, and the questions we face get more difficult, how wonderful it is that we have a place to turn for advice and support.

Another round of margaritas?  Sure!  But, maybe this time Kiki and I will share one.
