Jewelers of Louisiana hold 68th annual Convention


The 68th annual Jewelers of Louisiana Convention took place July 20 - 21, 2013 at the Westin Hotel in New Orleans, and once again provided education, entertainment, and a great time for all who attended. 

JLa-logoDuring the first day of the Convention attendees had an opportunity to participate in certification testing, provided by Jewelers of America, and later that evening, enjoyed dinner and Cajun dancing at Mulatte’s, The Original Cajun Restaurant.

The Convention opened it’s second day with a breakfast buffet, followed by registration and an opportunity for attendees to vote on jewelry submitted by Louisiana jewelers for the Louisiana Jewelry Design Contest.  Afterward Brad Huisken of IAS Training presented his seminar, “The Psychology of Sales.”

The afternoon session included a second presentation by Huisken, and a seminar by speaker David Feld of King Diamonds, followed by lunch.  The 2013 Convention concluded with the installment of the new Jewelers of Louisiana president, Kevin Bennett of Steve’s Jewelry, a welcoming of the new executive officers, a presentation to both the Associate of the Year and Jeweler of the Year, and the announcement of the Design Contest winners.
