Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) have revolutionized jewelry making. CAD-CAM has also made custom-designed jewelry an achievable reality for jewelers. While many retailers now understand CAD, an explosive amount of innovation in CAM technology - especially 3-D printing - is now making it possible to “grow” jewelry models faster and more creatively. Get an update on the latest developments, explained simply. Even if a retailer decides against in-store use of CAM machines, the store’s management and bench jewelers should have an understanding of how these technologies are transforming the making of jewelry.
