Jewelers Mutual promotes Carol Sanders to EVP and COO


Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company is delighted to announce the promotion of Carol Sanders, CPA, CMA, CFM, CPCU, to Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Joining Jewelers Mutual in 2004, Sanders most recently served as the company’s Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Corporate Treasurer.

In her new role, Sanders will drive company results for Jewelers Mutual’s Personal Lines and Commercial Lines divisions. She will oversee the company’s sales, distribution, marketing, underwriting, loss prevention, product management, pricing, actuarial services, project management, and business analysis functions, as well as lead strategic plan development. As EVP and COO, Sanders will continue to report to President and CEO Darwin Copeman, CPCU.

“The Jewelers Mutual’s Board of Directors unanimously approved Carol’s appointment to EVP and COO,” said Copeman. “We’re confident in her ability to produce strong company results and manage our daily operations.”

Sanders is on the Board of Directors for Alliant Energy Corporation and serves as their Audit Committee Chairperson. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. and the Chancellor’s Advisory Board at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Prior to joining Jewelers Mutual, Sanders had 12 years of experience in corporate finance and three years in public accounting. Sanders holds designations as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
