Marketing strategies to boost e-commerce sales this holiday season

As a business owner, you know that a good location is key to attracting foot traffic to your brick-and-mortar store enabling you to sell more of your products.

Along with a good location, a beautifully set up and organized store complemented by well-trained staff and good advertising will ensure more sales for your store.

Today, there is a shift in consumer buying behavior. Many customers are shifting to buying jewelry online. While having a website is the first step to having an online presence, just offering your products on your website will not guarantee sales.

You need to have a highly optimized website to attract and generate traffic. This is like having a silent salesperson working on bringing in sales any time of the day and night.

What can you and your staff do to attract customers and make them buy from your online store? Simple – you need to implement good marketing strategies.

  1. Website Branding and Design

Good website branding and design promote brand recognition and identity beyond your products. It is more of the persona of your company that can be implemented through brilliant lifestyle images, product photography, as well as well-written content and descriptions of your products. Excellent branding and design will give your customers the confidence to buy from your ecommerce store knowing that you are where they want to shop for luxury jewelry.

  1. Have an Organized e-Commerce store

A huge inventory can be difficult to manage but it gives your customers more options. You must organize your products on your website to make it easy for customers to find what they want to buy. In your brick-and-mortar store, you have wedding bands, engagement rings, earrings, birthstone jewelry, etc. displayed in different showcases, the same should be done on your website.

Have a separate category for each type of jewelry. Other than categorizing them based on jewelry type, you can also group them according to classic jewelry, birthstone of the month, gifts under $300, or jewelry for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, or gender-based. Your goal is to make it easy for your customers to shop.

  1. User-Friendly Website Design

This is not something new because every website should be user-friendly. Your website should be fast-loading and easy to use with a PC, laptop, or mobile device. User experience should be seamless because a difficult-to-use website will have your customers running to your competitors.

  1. Make your Website Organic Search Engine-Friendly

Consumers wanting to buy jewelry rely on search engines. If they want to buy a pair of diamond earrings, they make a Google (or other search engine) search on where they can buy them. Customers who hit search engines for a particular product already have an intent to buy and are qualified leads. In this case, your website should appear on the top of relevant search engine result pages (SERPs). This is what it means for your website to be organic-friendly (unpaid).

  1. Have an OMNI Presence

An OMNI presence means your store should be present anywhere and everywhere your target customers are, such as on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc) and all marketing channels so potential customers will recognize your brand and you’ll be top-of-mind.

  1. Create a Sales Funnel to Nurture your Customers

A sales funnel entails the process of awareness, interest, decision, and action. The fifth is loyalty. At each stage of the sales funnel, your brand should be top-of-mind for consumers. You can do this through targeted messaging based on what stage of the sales funnel the customer is in.

  1. Implement Email Marketing

Email marketing is a cost-efficient marketing strategy. You simply need to build an email list and send messages each time you have a new product offering, promotion, or on special occasions. You can build your email lists through contests, directly asking potential customers for their email addresses, or offering a special discount when they join your email list.

  1. Prioritize Product Reviews

Product reviews and testimonials from satisfied customers are the most effective way to get new customers to your online jewelry store. It should, therefore, be one of your top priorities to ensure that your online store gets a top 5-star rating on reviews on your Google Business Profile. Most customers make it a point to always read product reviews before making a purchase.

  1. Add a Financing Option

Having a financing option helps your customers make bigger purchases. Partner with companies that offer a buy now and pay later option to online shoppers.

There is no single activity that can guarantee increased sales for your online store. Instead, it is a combination of activities (marketing strategies).

It takes a lot of work, time, commitment, and consistency to implement these marketing strategies.  It is not something that happens overnight, albeit, the results can be extremely rewarding.

You know there is a need to implement these marketing strategies. If all these feel daunting for you and your staff, allow Jewelry Store Marketers to do the job for you so you can focus on other aspects of your business.
