third-generation at the helm of
the Cas-Ker Co.
The Cas-Ker Company of Cincinnati, Ohio distributes what may be the world’s largest selection of horological products, including watch parts, batteries, jewelers and watchmakers’ tools and supplies, findings, watchbands, gift boxes and more.
Flipping through 470 pages of Cas-Ker’s latest 2021 Tool & Supply catalogue, you can see why the third-generation, 94-year-old supply house is revered for offering everything jewelers and watchmakers need to get the job done. Released every other spring, this coveted catalogue features thousands of products, including special order items not found on its website (jewelerssupplies.com).
Further testament to its unsurpassed selection is found in Cas-Ker’s latest Movement Book, with updated pricing and new products, launched in August. This 80-page catalogue features 517 movements for quartz and mechanical watches, case parts, crystals, crowns, stems, and clasps from the United States, Switzerland, Japan, France and Germany.
Purchasing the inventories of more than 15 watch material houses over the years has been a big boon for Cas-Ker customers, allowing the company to provide jewelers and watchmakers a one-stop-shop for everything from top-of-the-line precision tools to vintage watch parts that can’t be found anywhere else.
Cas-Ker guarantees customers that if they are not 100% satisfied with their order when it arrives, they can return it for a refund or exchange.

Family Affair
Alongside unsurpassed product selection is superior customer service that has kept Cas-Ker in business since 1927. Starting out as the American and Swiss Watch and Supply Company, John Cassedy, Sr. and Robert Whitaker purchased and renamed the business the Cas-Ker Company in 1937.
A family business from the start, Cassedy’s wife, Helen, managed the company’s accounting for years, and served as president from 1958, when John Sr. died, to 1974. Whitaker retired in 1960. And, John Cassedy, Jr., who joined the company in the early 1940s, with a break to serve in the Army Air Corps during World War II, eventually became the sole owner of the company.

At one time or another, until John Jr. passed in 1984, all eight of his children worked for the company. Since then, two of his sons, Dan and Tom, who started working for the family business in the watch crystals and materials departments during high school, have been at the helm. Cas-Ker employs 16 full- and part-time associates, half of whom have worked for the company for more than 15 years, and several with 25 years of service.
The Cassedy brothers and their family of associates have a genuine desire to help the jewelers and watchmakers they serve – in all 50 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico – to be more efficient and profitable in the work they do by offering superior product selection and expertise.
“The secret to Cas-Ker’s success continues to be outstanding customer service,” underscores Andrea Ayers, marketing manager, noting the warm, knowledgeable staff. “When you call in your order, you’ll speak to an expert who knows horological and jewelers materials, tools and supplies.” She says that for most orders, turnaround time is less than four hours, shipped the same day.
Cas-Ker, A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau, initiates frequent customer surveys to check on how they’re doing, regularly receiving responses like: “The best customer service of any supply house I have ordered from.” “Every experience with Cas-Ker over the years has been positive. Thank you!” “Cas-Ker has helped me through many parts issues.” “The nicest and most professional staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with.” “The most helpful pre-sales phone support.” “Ordering from Cas-Ker goes smoothly every time!”
