Gold Star Independent says ‘I Do’ to bridal lines

In the two years that Gold Star Independent has been in business they’ve worked hard to build a solid customer base and refine their processing and styling procedures. With backing from their 40 year old, world-wide parent company Gold Star Jewellery, Ltd., (a DTC site holder), Gold Star Independent (GSI) hit the ground running in 2008. Unlike most new start-ups, they opened their doors with diamond sourcing and manufacturing facilities already established, leaving them to concentrate on finding their niche in the retail market.

Alkesh Sha, Vice Chairman, and Amit Patel, President, of Goldstar Independent.

Seeing a need in the lower-end bridal market, Gold Star Independent decided to seize the opportunity to service retailers who need top quality, New York style bridal pieces ranging from $299-$699 wholesale.

“We are proud to announce that we’ve just opened a facility in China dedicated to making bridal pieces,” remarks Amit Patel, president of Gold Star Independent in New York. “We are dedicated to servicing the independent retailer, who will be pleasantly surprised with the quality, selection and pricing they receive from us.”

Having a supplier, facility and process already in place enables GSI to meet high aspirations when it comes to variety and custom alterations. Churning out over a hundred new styles every month is just one of the benefits of hav ing an entire product development department working for you.

Their newest inspiration is the Ashni S. Bridal Collection. It includes popular styles that are the latest fashion designs as well as basic bridal pieces that always sell well. Ashni S. pieces are priced far below market norms to satisfy all spectrums of the market.

Custom alterations are also handled easily with direct access to the factory. This is how GSI is able to provide custom band sizes, changes in stone shapes and accommodate many other custom requests without lengthy turn times.

Goldstar Independent’s parent company is a DTC siteholder enabling them to offer an exceptional selection at attractive prices.

But perhaps the biggest benefit is having a diamond site holder as a parent company. Gold Star Jewellery, Ltd. is a Diamond Trading Company Siteholder. There are definite advantages to owning every part of the diamond manufacturing process, including cutting. Gold Star Jewellery passes along a 10%-15% discount to GSI customers.

“We are always thinking about how to help our customers,” states Patel. “We make sure their satisfaction is our number one priority.”

Regardless of the amount of the sale, GSI offers each customer a host of amenities usually reserved for larger buyers. From ad slicks to signage, postcards to TV commercials, GSI strives to provide every tool available that will help retailers make sales.

“We have an entire team of young, aggressive people who are on top of their game,” states Patel. “They are just one of the reasons GSI has experienced tremendous growth in the last year.”

Aggressive goals and lofty aspirations will continue to permeate GSI’s corporate plans. In the next two years the company will complete a bridal sample program as well as an online catalog, which is no small feat with more than 1500 different products.

From contemporary to designer to traditional bridal styles, GSI carries it all at a price point that will have your customers saying “I do!”
