Meet Buddy, our very first Feathered Friend on the Job. Buddy is an 18-year-old African Grey Parrot that works with his human Rob Bisching at Your Jeweler in Carterville, Illinois. Buddy greets customers with a “Hello” or “Good Morning” when they enter Your Jeweler. New customers are often left wondering, “Who said that?” Buddy likes grapes and peanuts and is not shy about asking for them. He has manners – after receiving his treats he responds with, “Thank you, that’s good.” When customers leave he may chime in with, “see you later.” Buddy has yet to pick up any jewelry terms, but African Grey Parrots can live up to 50 years so he has plenty of time to work on that.
