JCK Tucson holds inaugural show

(NORWALK, Conn.) - JCK Tucson’s inaugural show closed Saturday, February 8 after an historic week in the desert. The serene 5-star property, daily show specials, and focused networking sessions proved to be a winning combination for all who attended. JCK reported strong retailer attendance for the show, 47% of the 1,800 stores attending do not attend JCK Las Vegas, which provided new selling opportunities to the 129 exhibitors who debuted their collections.

JCK-April“We could not have asked for a better first show here in Tucson,” boasted Yancy Weinrich, Group Vice President, JCK Portfolio. “The energy throughout the show was remarkable. Retailers from all over the world came and experienced everything this show had to offer: the latest in jewelry from the industry’s top designers, networking opportunities to meet new industry colleagues, and develop business partnerships with our exhibitors. The JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort proved to be the perfect respite from the craze of this week, providing an oasis at which business could be conducted, both on and off the show floor.”

Several JCK exhibitors offered their review of the week:

Warren Berger of Dazzlers, Inc. commented: “We are long-time JCK supporters and had high hopes for JCK Tucson. We are extremely happy to report that our expectations were exceeded. Sales were strong and it sets the year off in a very positive manner.”

“We met many new retailers,” explained Loretta Castoro of Loretta Castoro Signature Collections. “Feedback on our new collections was strong, as were sales. The surroundings here at the JW Marriott complemented the overall experience.”

Many attending retailers were also quick to share their enthusiasm for the new show:

“JCK Tucson has set the bar here at Tucson Jewelry Week,” proclaimed Judith Arnell of Judith Arnell, Portland, OR. “The wide range of product, supplemented by the daily show specials truly enabled our ability to buy more than anticipated at the show, and made this trip a very successful one for us.”

Manuel Wiesnar of Joyería Monte Carlo, Mexico, shared: “We have attended the shows here in Tucson for years, but have never had an experience quite like we did at JCK Tucson. The wide range of product available made this a one-stop-buying experience, but it was the educational seminars that were the unexpected highlight of the trip. They allowed for us to meet other buyers and develop best practices that we will now implement at our store.”

Lulu Ceballos of Daniel Ceballos, Mexico, commented: “We have attended the shows here in Tucson for years, and this year JCK Tucson was very productive as there were a wide range of products in one place. Our trip to JCK Tucson was a success.”

JCK Tucson will be back in the desert in 2015 for its second show from February 2 - 7, 2015.
