OJA Fall Seminar to feature renowned humorist/motivational speaker Joel Zeff

OJA ZeffJoel ZeffNationally renowned motivational speaker Joel Zeff will be in Oklahoma in August to address the Oklahoma Jewelers Association (OJA).

OJA President Mike Holmes said the Association is especially proud to bring a speaker of the caliber of Joel Zeff to the Association’s fall seminar, which traditionally focuses on professional growth and enrichment. “Joel’s message is that organizations and individuals should celebrate every day successes to increase collaboration, productivity, passion and innovation. In his highly energized fun presentation, Joel will be showing us ways to find fun and passion in our jewelry businesses.”

Joel explains on his website that he started his professional career as a newspaper journalist and public relations executive. In 1994 he went out on his own as a corporate communications specialist, helping clients with their employee communications, media relations, strategy and customer marketing. Throughout the consulting process, Joel realized that his clients - many of them high-level technology and telecommunications firms - needed more than marketing and public relations strategy. Many of his clients’ employees were starving for fun, passion and a new perspective on finding success.

During this time, Joel was also working weekends in improvisational comedy, and knowing that, one of his corporate clients asked him to play some improvisational games for a dinner party of high level executives. And in so doing, Joel discovered a new and highly effective way to motivate people.

Vicki Cunningham, Executive Director of the OJA commented: “Joel connects to his audience with humor that has them laughing so uncontrollably that their mascara runs, their cheeks hurt, and their bellies ache. He often asks volunteers from the audience to join him on stage to play an integral role in the fun-filled presentation.”

“Our Association is especially excited and grateful that Jewelers of America will be joining us for this event; first, by completely sponsoring Joel’s presentation, and second, by Susan Pollack of JA, leading and sharing with jewelers in a round-table ‘idea exchange’ after Joel’s program.”

The seminar will begin with a gala on Saturday, August 4th at the historic Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City, continuing through Sunday, August 5th with the two seminar events. Jewelers can consult the OJA website, www.okjewelers.org, for more details or for registration. For more information about Zeff visit www.joelzeff.com.
