Calling all couch potatoes - The Couch Conference offers timely business advice from industry leaders

(NEW YORK) - As part of a response to the number of cancellations of jewelry trade shows resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, three leading companies in the jewelry industry have partnered together to create The Couch Conference - a digital summit that gathers brilliant thinkers and doers both inside and out of the jewelry industry.

Presented by Clientbook, The Smithee Group and Punchmark, this year’s theme for The Couch Conference is RESET, and will take place April 16th and 17th. “As we all face the unprecedented effects of COVID-19, we view it as an opportunity to reset your mindset, rethink your business strategy and prepare for what you can do to navigate toward greater success - from the comfort of your living room and favorite sweatpants,” says Ben Smithee, CEO of The Smithee Group.

The Couch Conference will be a casual and engaging source of innovation, knowledge-sharing and community. Sessions are 15-20 minutes with Q&A to follow and will be in a video-based live webinar format. Multiple tracks and sessions will be available for attendees (“Couch Potatoes”), to join upon registration.

The goal of The Couch Conference is to help business owners become better leaders, and to help grow their businesses, all from the same spot where you tune in to your favorite Netflix series.

Being in line with the fun and light approach of the conference, in addition to participants being labeled as Couch Potatoes, speakers are being referred to as Spuds. The idea is to be as comfortable as possible while learning from some of the top industry leaders. There will be time for giveaways for attendees, and even social Happy Hour times being called “Spuds and Buds.”

“We want it to be fun, casual, and different from other available events - while still adding a tremendous amount of value,” says Ryan Blumenthal, VP of Business Development of Clientbook and jewelry store owner of Corinne Jewelers. “As organizers, we are proud of the level of speakers and quality of content we are able to provide to the audience.”

To list a few Spuds being represented, The Couch Conference will feature speakers such as Caryl Capeci of Hearts on Fire, and speakers from the American Gem Society, Gemological Institute of America, JCK, the Jewelers Vigilance Committee, Women’s Jewelry Association, Balance to Buy, Edge Retail Academy, and leading brands and retailers from around the world.
