“Career Fair – Powered by GIA is the premier event for finding success in the gem and jewelry industry,” said Susan Jacques, GIA president and CEO. “Jewelry is a fun and emotional industry and a very personal business. Keynote speaker Jordan Harbinger is a Wall Street lawyer turned talk-show host whose dynamic expertise landed The Jordan Harbinger Show as Apple Podcast’s “Best of 2018.” He deconstructs the playbooks of the most successful people and shares their strategies, perspectives, and practical insights, earning five million downloads per month.

During the State of the Industry panel, gem and jewelry leaders will cover hot topics and trends. Get real-life insights from Marty Hurwitz, CEO and founder of THE MVEye; Johanna Levy, vice president of environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs at GIA; and David Berdugo, chief operating officer at BlueNile.com and JamesAllen.com. Hurwitz is a third-generation jewelry retailer who created THE MVEye for strategic consulting and market research of consumer and trade habits, especially related to laboratory-grown diamonds. Levy has over 15 years of international experience developing sustainability programs and leading high-impact projects to meet ESG goals. Berdugo oversees the company’s critical functions of merchandising, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with recruiters who are hiring for positions from entry-level to management in buying, social media, gemology, jewelry manufacturing and repair, jewelry design, marketing, sales, IT and beyond. Connect with brands such as Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Brilliant Earth, Diamonds Direct, De Beers Group and more.

One-on-one career coaching will be available for anyone interested in honing in on their skills and expertise. Hear from professionals in the industry with insights on how you can stand out amongst other candidates.

Career Fair – Powered by GIA, will be held in Carlsbad, California and London later in 2023. GIA hosted its first Career Fair in 1991 in Santa Monica, California. Since then, the event has expanded, linking gem and jewelry companies with future employees at more than 70 events in California, India, Las Vegas, London and New York.
