Ethical Gem Suppliers return to Tucson for 2023 Gem Shows

The Ethical Gem Suppliers will host the next Ethical Gem Fair at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 160 S Scott Ave, Tucson, AZ,, from Saturday January 28th – Tuesday January 31st, 2022, from 9AM – 6PM daily.

This trade-only buying event presents an opportunity to find exceptional gemstones that support the Ethical Gem Suppliers shared vision that gemstones can be more than just beautiful. Each brand within the collective shares a strong commitment to supply chain ethics, mine-to-market traceability, environmental health and safety regulations, and supporting artisanal miners. With a focus on access to information and education of their practices, this is an event you will learn from as well as walk away with some fantastic jewels.

The Ethical Gem Suppliers are made up of a handful of like minded brands, including Agere Treasures, ANZA Gems, Capricorn Gems, Columbia Gem House, Nature’s Geometry, Nineteen48, Perpetuum Jewels and Virtu Gem. The brands in attendance for this event will each have a variety of gemstones with event-only promotions available.

With the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of the Scottish Rite Cathedral, attendees are invited to join and shop event specials, meet the individuals who make up this collective, and learn more about what it means to buy responsibly sourced gemstones. Registration is free and appointments will be available throughout the event on a first-come basis. Every day there will be two 20 minute educational sessions on hot topics in the industry, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session will be hosted by various suppliers within the group.

There will also be a Social Meet & Greet Event on Monday January 30th, 2022, from 4 – 6PM. More information and details will be posted on the Ethical Gem Suppliers Instagram.

Saturday, Jan. 28th:

  • 10AM – Miner to Market Traceability with Monica Stephenson of ANZA Gems and Eric Braunwart of Columbia Gem House
  • 2PM – Directly Supporting Mining Communities with Hewan Zwedi of Agere Treasures and Brian Cook of Nature’s Geometry

Sunday, Jan 29th:

  • 10AM – Know Your Cutter with Eric Braunwart of Columbia Gem House and Susan Wheeler of Virtu Gem
  • 2PM – Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability with Monica Stephenson of ANZA Gems and Brian Cook of Nature’s Geometry

Monday, Jan 30th:

  • 10AM – Words Matter: What Responsible Means to You with Hewan Zwedi of Agere Treasures and Stuart Pool of Nineteen48
  • 2PM – Natural, Recycled & Lab Grown Gems with Ian Bone of Capricorn Gems and Jay Moncada of Perpetuum Jewels
  • 4PM – Meet & Greet Social Event with all attending Ethical Gem Suppliers

Tuesday, Jan 31st:

  • 10AM – Beyond Country of Origin with Ian Bone of Capricorn Gems and Stuart Pool of Nineteen48
  • 2PM – Standards & Certifications: Why They Matter with Jay Moncada of Perpetuum Jewels and Susan Wheeler of Virtu Gem

The Ethical Gem Suppliers are a collective of gem dealers focused on transparent supply chains that better support artisanal mining and cutting communities around the world. In addition to selling gemstones to support gemstone miners, dealers, and cutters, this collective aims to educate the industry and consumers about responsible sourcing.
