(SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan.) – The Jewelers Educational Conference and Show (JEC) will be held March 16-18, 2012 in Overland Park, Kansas.
The theme for the 2012 conference is Right Next Door and will focus on the particular needs of smaller retailers. The conference is limited to 200 retailer attendees and 50 suppliers.
“We create a warm and welcoming conference that is unassuming and where it’s easy to navigate and mingle,” said Stacy Stauch, of Crews Jewelry in Grandview, Missouri and Co-Chair of the conference along with Kim Zuzenak, of Borsheim Jewelry in Omaha, Nebraska.
As a smaller conference, the focus is on building quality connections that may be fewer in number, but higher in quality. Meals are eaten together, and a number of hospitality events offer opportunities to see familiar faces.
“At our conference, you see the same friendly faces again and again, providing more opportunities to talk about individual needs and solutions,” added Zuzenak. “Our goal is to provide a neighborly feel.”
Sessions include quality service, presented by Louie Gravance, formerly of The Disney Institute; relationship building, presented by Janice Mack Talcott, who has been instrumental in course and program development for GIA, AGS, DCA and Hearts On Fire; and marketing, presented by Fruchtman Marketing.
The conference is made up of jewelers from Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
The Jewelers Educational Conference and Show is sponsored by the independent retail jewelers associations of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska/S. Dakota and Oklahoma. The conference is a biennial event. For more information, visit www.jewelryexecutives.com.
