(NEW YORK) – Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, will hold its tenth annual GEM Awards gala on Friday, January 6, 2012, in New York City. The 2012 GEM Awards returns to Cipriani 42nd Street, the iconic venue space where all but one of the galas have been held. Known for its stylish celebration of honorees – who range from industry leaders, media elite and celebrities – the event will once again kick off a weekend of prestigious jewelry industry events.
GEM Awards is the fine jewelry industry’s premier accolade gala, which recognizes the achievements of individuals and companies whose work amplifies JIC’s mission to raise the visibility and status of fine jewelry and watches. Each year, GEM Awards honors a selection of retailers, manufacturers and/or media who meet the stringent criteria to be leaders in their field. The GEM Awards committee, made up of the industry’s finest professionals, reviews the nominations and supporting material to determine the honorees.
