MJSA Expo, the longest-running trade show dedicated to professional jewelry making and design, will return to the Javits Center in New York City on August 8 – 10. It will run at the same time as the summer JA New York Summer Show, continuing a dynamic collaboration that over the past several years has drawn buyers from all sectors of the jewelry industry.
Presented by MJSA, the trade alliance of professional jewelry makers, designers, and related suppliers, Expo will again feature industry leading providers of jewelry-making tools, technology, supplies and services. Originally scheduled for March 2020 but deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show will now take place in a new hall (E). The new location offers increased lighting (which gemstone dealers in particular have welcomed) as well as expanded space to ensure greater social distancing and safety.
“We’ve heard from many exhibitors and attendees asking when Expo would return, and we wanted to make sure it could do so in a way that provides the best experience for everyone,” said David W. Cochran, MJSA’s president/CEO. “The Javits Center has invested in numerous additional safety and sanitizing protocols as part of its ongoing multimillion expansion. We are confident that scheduling this year’s Expo in August and relocating to the new hall will deliver the exceptional ‘Expo experience’ we all want and expect.”
In addition to a brighter, more open show floor, the August Expo will enhance its educational program by adopting a “hybrid” model, simultaneously webcasting several of the on-site seminars.
“The Expo seminars have traditionally featured renowned leaders and experts addressing some of the most pressing industry issues and technical challenges,” Cochran said. “We want to ensure that information becomes as widely available as possible. Because of the pandemic, we now have more experience with online education, and we’ll combine the best of both live and digital events to extend our reach and inform the industry.”
In addition to the live event, MJSA will continue to offer its MJSA Expo Online series of product and service demos, in which exhibitors can promote their offerings through both webcasts and in-depth profiles on the MJSA website MJSA.org. Past presentations have featured Gesswein, National Chain Group, Riva Precision, Stuller and United Precious Metal Refining.
