In-house event to feature seminars, training, exclusive buying opportunity, free lodging, meals and entertainment
(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – RDI Diamonds of New York has always believed in helping jewelers become more successful and making their lives easier. Working towards this goal every day has led to the creation of their in-house RDI VIP Experience.
“It’s like Vegas, Antwerp and an IJO Show all in one… you get the fun night out on the town… the selection of diamonds, the educational seminars and the camaraderie of a show,” said Monteca Confer of Confer’s Jewelers.
Michael Indelicato, CEO of RDI Diamonds, has challenged himself to design an event that is not only convenient for jewelers to attend, but contains as much value in 24 hours as possible. “While attending shows all across the country we discovered that jewelers everywhere are facing more issues than just inventory,” said Indelicato. “Jewelers are confronting challenges with internet competition, keeping up with ever evolving social media, hiring, retaining employees and so much more.”
RDI Diamonds has been hosting their in-house VIP Experience event twice a year for the past three years. The event always runs from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon (when many stores are usually closed) and includes renowned seminars, sales and marketing round table discussions and, of course, personal buying time for attendees to cherry-pick from a $50 million dollar inventory. In keeping with the theme of jeweler success, RDI Diamonds covers the hotel stay, local transportation, meals and entertainment for all attendees.
The training seminars cover industry trends, sales techniques and training. “I have had the privilege of speaking at numerous jewelry shows as well as training seminars at hundreds of stores around the country,” said Andrew Rickard, VP of Operations. “My seminars have been specifically developed to train jewelers on what the best of the best are doing, how they’re doing it and how you can replicate it for your store.”
Post event surveys have shown that in addition to the amazing seminars by Rickard, jewelers also find immense value in the sales and marketing round tables where they have the chance to learn from their peers. “So many times we have witnessed jewelers working together to solve each other’s problems and share success stories,” said Samantha Lape, Marketing Director.
To bring even more value before and after the event, the RDI Diamonds Marketing Staff offer (free) pre-show materials for jewelers to collect pre orders for their buying session. RDI also provides a professional photographer and access to event photographs so that attendees can promote their trip when they return with all of their newly acquired knowledge and inventory.
