(re)Discover: Atlanta Jewelry Show invites independent jewelers to rediscover retail passion during August event

Reading Time: 9 minutes

(ATLANTA) – From a welcoming, easy-to-work show floor filled with new resources and cozy gathering spaces, to a growing roster of networking and educational events, the Atlanta Jewelry Show invites jewelers to rediscover their retail passion, as well as new avenues for business growth, during the August 9-11, 2014 edition at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

Atlanta-Mingle-June
There’s no better place to unwind and network than Mingle!, the complimentary networking event held every night after the show.
“It’s so easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day challenges of running a business,” explains Carol Young, executive director, Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA), producers of the semi-annual Atlanta Jewelry Show. “That’s why we focus our efforts on creating a show environment that is full of ideas, networking and new resources. The idea? To rekindle the passion that led most to enter this business in the first place. We also hope to create an atmosphere that evokes the same sense of passion that jewelry buying itself inspires.”

August 2014 show highlights include:

• (re)Ignite: Creative atmosphere leads to inspired buying

“The moment I walked into the show, I felt like I was entering a high-end exhibit,” says Marcia Dowd, Dole & Dowd LTD, with stores in Palm Beach, FL and Doxbury, MA.

These types of comments, about the show’s overall look and feel, are regularly shared by buyers and exhibitors alike. The convenient layout, striking booth displays and special sections, including Point of View: A Designer Gallery, Promenade and general booth areas, reignite that sense of excitement that comes when spotting trends, top-selling brands and fresh new designs.

“This is a classy show with high fashion vendors and serious buyers,” adds Estelle Hedaya, World Trade Jewelers. “If you’re a Southeastern retailer and you’re not attending the Atlanta Jewelry Show, you’re really missing the boat. Atlanta has all the major vendors, creative new designs and more – all under one roof, in an easy-to-shop atmosphere.”

• (re)Fresh: Handcrafted Studio showcases original, one-of-a-kind designs

The Handcrafted Studio exhibitors return this August, bringing together a talented group of jewelry designers showcasing one-of-a-kind, hand created pieces. The perfect resource for any retailer seeking ways to refresh their selection and differentiate their store, Handcrafted Studio offers unique designs and inspired styles in a range of price points

• (re)Discover the ATL: The new Home of the Brave(s)

The August edition also invites attendees to rediscover Atlanta’s many offerings as the perfect trade show city to mix business with pleasure.  The show’s location in particular, Cobb Galleria Centre, has evolved as a major hub for retail, restaurants, entertainment/arts and business.  Located in Northwest Atlanta/Cobb County, it’s just 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta and the city’s popular Buckhead district, and only 20 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. As a testament to the area’s vibrant growth and energy, the Atlanta Braves recently announced plans to build a new stadium and mixed use development just north of the Galleria, with plans to build a pedestrian bridge that connects to the Galleria, too.

• (re)Kindle: At Mingle!

Nobody is a stranger at the Atlanta Jewelry Show! In addition to the friendly show floor atmosphere, after-hours events like Mingle! make it easy to rekindle old relationships and find new friends. Mingle! invites exhibitors and buyers to meet up at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel each night of the show – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – for show recaps, nightcaps and good times.

• (re)Vive: Café Conversations @ the $5 Lunch Buffet

The Atlanta Jewelry Show offers an easy, convenient and incredibly inexpensive way to grab a quick lunch and new ideas each day of the show. A buyer badge and special coupon are all that’s needed for retailers to enjoy a full, hot lunch – without leaving the show floor – for only $5. As an added bonus, retailers can also join other jewelers for one of the show’s daily Café Conversations. These informal sessions give retailers the rare chance to share successes, common challenges and new ideas with their peers.

• (re)Charge your bottom line: AJS University

The popular education series, AJS University, returns with a full line-up offering sessions on innovative sales techniques as well as the newest marketing strategies for retailers – just in time for the all-important 3rd and 4th quarter selling season. From “The Psychology of Sales” to “How to Have a Huge Black Friday Event” to “Growing Your Business Through Pinterest,” hot topics and top notch speakers fill the schedule throughout Saturday and Sunday of the show.  Look for more information coming soon.

• (re)Boot: Complimentary Buyer Breakfast each morning

Starting at 9 am daily, the Atlanta Show’s complimentary continental breakfast offers a fun way to wake up and get together with associates to map out the busy buying day ahead. Breakfast is served in the registration concourse.

• (re)Ward: Place an order, earn SJTA Reward Points

The Atlanta Jewelry Show takes buyer rewards to a whole new level with its one-of-a-kind SJTA Rewards program.  Rewarding buyers for placing orders at the show, the program invites retailers to earn valuable points for dollars spent on every single order. These points can be redeemed for hotel and travel packages, electronics, personal accessories, home goods and more. It’s easy too. Buyers are encouraged to bring copies of orders placed during the show to the SJTA Rewards desk where the representative will deposit the corresponding Rewards points to their Rewards account. After the show, retailers can visit the program’s online catalog to see all the items they can order.

Atlanta-Handcraft-June
The recently introduced Handcrafted Studio returns to the 2014 Atlanta Jewelry Show summer edition, August 9-11.
• (re)Treat: Atlanta’s Club Elite

Retailers who have earned 15,000 SJTA Reward points or more at any one of the past three shows are automatically enrolled in Club Elite – the exclusive club of Atlanta VIP buyers. As a member, retailers receive entry into the exclusive, member-only Club Elite lounge for meals during the show, an exclusive, no-wait registration area and special VIP badges. To find out if you qualify for membership, buyers should contact Fran Strauss at SJTA: 800-241-0399 or e-mail fstrauss@atlantajewelryshow.com.

• (re)Duced travel expenses

The Atlanta Jewelry Show has arranged for deep discounts at area hotels for visitors attending the show.  A list of all partner hotels with direct links, special rates and phone numbers can be found at www.atlantajewelryshow.com/hotel-accommodations. When calling the hotel directly, retailers can inform the reservations representative that they’re attending the SJTA Atlanta Jewelry Show to take advantage of these special rates.
