Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Texas Jewelers Association (TJA) has adjusted the date on its 2015 Convention. The Convention, originally scheduled to take place from October 10 – 12 in San Antonio, will now be held from November 7 – 9, 2015.
TJA Executive Director Ann Glynn stated: “Although we had to deal with some unexpected circumstances, I am thrilled to announce that aside from the change in date, most everything else on our previous schedule will stay the same, including our beautiful location at the El Tropicano Hotel, located directly on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.
“I’m also pleased that the majority of our speaker lineup is still available to join us, and the change in dates has given us the opportunity to include Diamond Council of America President Terry Chandler. Terry is a favorite of our TJA members, and I know everyone will be happy to welcome him back to San Antonio again this year.”
In addition to Chandler, the educational portion of the TJA Convention will feature presentations from Chuck Koehler, JVC’s Sara Yood, seminars from both Federated Insurance and Jewelers Mutual, as well as Robert James of ISG and Ira Savoie of Savoie Fine Jewelry Appraisers.
The two-day event will conclude on Monday with an exclusive presentation from internationally renowned speaker and facilitator Don Hancock, titled “Romancing the Stone,” as well as an extraordinary panel of presenters who will be addressing “Profit Through Personalization.”
On the exhibitor side, the TJA welcomes back exhibitors from the 2014 Convention, including Jewelers of America, Charles Garnier, Alan Lodinger Sales, Time Delay and Authentic Gem Imports. New exhibitors include Preferred Jewelers International, Safina Materials, Apex Global, Nina Nguyen Designs, Intrix AP and Chronofy, as well as the recent addition for 2015 of an Antwerp Diamond Dealers pavilion.
Although space is limited, there are still a few booth locations left, and vendors who are interested in exhibiting at this event are encouraged to contact TJA Executive Director Ann Glynn.
The 2015 TJA Convention is sponsored by Federated Insurance, World Gem Trade, Jewelers of America, Worthy.com and Jewelers Mutual.
