(DALLAS) – The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) has announced the results of its annual AGTA Board of Directors’ Election. Ms. Kimberly Collins, Kimberly Collins Colored Gems, was elected as President. Mr. Jaimeen Shah, of Prima Gems USA, was re-elected as a Director to the Board. Mr. Dudley Blauwet, Dudley Blauwet Gems; Mr. John Ford, Lightning Ridge Collection by John Ford; Mr. Matthew Hopkins, Hopkins Opal; and Mr. Eric Yen, Yen’s Jewelry & Accessories were newly elected as Directors to the Board. The President and the Directors’-elect will take office in February 2022 and will serve three-year terms.
The following Members will continue with their positions on the Board: Renata Abrahami, Jonathan Gad, Rohan Agrawal, Shiksha Naheta, Ann Barker, David Nassi, John Bradshaw, Shekhar Shah and Evan Caplan.
AGTA would like to recognize Mr. Robert Bentley, Mr. Jeff Mason, and Mr. Niveet Nagpal for their commitment to the AGTA Board of Directors, and to express appreciation for their years of service and dedication to AGTA. Their terms as Directors will end in February 2022. AGTA also expresses their profound gratitude to the current President, Mr. Ruben Bindra. His exceptional strength and leadership were instrumental in helping navigate AGTA through the pandemic. Mr. Bindra’s term as President will end in February 2022.
Past President Jeffrey Bilgore chaired the Nominating Committee. The Committee Members were Pramod Agrawal, John Bachman, Simon Watt and Ray Zajicek. The AGTA Board of Directors holds elections on a rotating cycle to guarantee the coherence of the Board’s long-term plans. The new Board Members will be introduced at the AGTA Membership Meeting, which is open to all AGTA Members and will be held during AGTA GemFair™ Tucson, February 1 – 6, 2022.
