Jewelers of America announces CASE Award winners

(NEW YORK) – Jewelers of America (JA) has announced the winners of its 30th annual CASE Awards jewelry design competition. The CASE Awards, JA’s national design competition, recognizes JA Members who exhibit creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design. Winners were announced live during the Jewelers of America Virtual National Convention on May 28.

CASE Awards has expanded this year to include categories specifically for both retailers and suppliers for the first time. First place winners were selected out of over 100 entries in eight categories; categories were separated for both retailers and suppliers: Jewelry up to $2,000, $2,001 to $5,000, $5,001 to $10,000 and $10,001 to $50,000 (retail values).

“The CASE Awards shine a spotlight on the custom design and craftsmanship found in the jewelry stores of Jewelers of America Members nationwide,” says Amanda Gizzi, JA spokesperson. “The entries are always diverse and it showcases how jewelry can exhibit creativity and artistry in a countless  ways.”

The winners in each category were determined by a panel of design experts who evaluated the entries on the following criteria: overall design, marketability, practicality/wearability and quality of manufacture. Judges included Terry Chandler, DCA; Amy Elliott, JCK contributing editor and All That Glitters columnist; Deirdre Featherstone, Featherstone Design; Amanda Gizzi, Jewelers of America; Michelle Graff, National Jeweler; Cheryl Kremkow, Gem Obsessed; and Steve Velasquez, Madison Jewelers.

All winners will receive a customized CASE Award trophy and national and local media coverage.

The 2020 CASE Awards were sponsored by Synchrony and Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group. The CASE Awards is open only to employees of JA Member companies.
