Congratulations to Elizabeth and Matt Shaver, McRae Jewelers, Norwood, NC who were awarded the 2022 North Carolina Jewelers Association Jimmy Greene and William E. Thunberg Scholarship. The scholarship is named after two past presidents of the association and is awarded to a deserving recipient who wishes to continue their education and grow in the jewelry industry.
Elizabeth and Matt Shaver purchased the store less than a year ago, bringing no experience but a love of jewelry. They have learned much in their short time in the industry and are working to modernize their brick-and-mortar store, while expanding their online presence in a multimodal fashion. They are enjoying their journey with online live sales and fun store events. Education and growing their business are their top priorities. The couple thanks the NCJA and their sponsor Carolyn Woltz Lennon for this wonderful opportunity and are anxious to use their scholarship in gaining their gemological certifications.
