(NEW YORK) – Platinum Guild International USA has announced the recipients of the second round of its highly successful business development grant initiative. Launched in 2021, the grant program was designed to turbo-charge the growth of platinum jewelry specifically within the USA, inspiring manufacturers, designers, and retailers to make platinum an important focus of their business. The initial grant program exceeded expectations, with the three inaugural participants, Helzberg Diamonds, Memoire, and Kwiat, achieving outstanding platinum sales results that ranged from 50% to over 900% growth when compared to the period preceding the grant.
The 2024-2026 Platinum Guild International USA business grant recipients are:
- A. JAFFE
- Frederick Goldman Inc.
- Miosogno by the Jewelex Group
- Robbins Brothers
The reaction from all the recipients was overwhelmingly positive and highlighted the growth potential for platinum jewelry in the coming months and years.
“We are excited to partner with a fantastic organization like PGI USA,” said Sam Sandberg, Chairman of A. JAFFE. “We strongly believe in the platinum story and will continue to advocate for platinum jewelry. We are eager to begin promoting our turn-key platinum program for the upcoming shows, supported by marketing, training, and shelf stock for immediate delivery.”
Jonathan Goldman, CEO of Frederick Goldman Inc. commented, “We are thrilled to receive this grant from Platinum Guild International USA. With the resurgence of platinum as the premier metal in bridal jewelry, we look to partner to create awareness and sell through for our retail partners.”
“Embracing the esteemed recognition of being a grant recipient from Platinum Guild International USA, Miosogno, a new luxury brand by the Jewelex Group, radiates gratitude that outshines even platinum itself,” explained Orlando Altamar of the Jewelex Group. “This collaboration not only enhances our craft but also reinforces our dedication to advancing the artistry of platinum jewelry, creating timeless treasures for discerning customers.”
“Robbins Brothers is so pleased to have received this generous grant from Platinum Guild International USA,” said Sue Hopeman, VP Merchandising for Robbins Brothers. “We have been successfully working with PGI USA for a number of years, and look forward to expanding our partnership, and the ability to offer the luxury and quality of platinum to our guests.”
Kevin Reilly, PGI USA’s Senior Vice President stated: “We were overwhelmed by the response we received for this round of our platinum business development grant program. The recipients of the grant are companies with a rich heritage and generations of successful business in the jewelry industry with a particular focus on the relationship jewelry category. Our consumer research continues to inform us that nearly 70% of consumers desire platinum for their engagement rings and wedding bands, but significantly fewer buy platinum. We anticipate great success from these companies as they use the funds from this grant for integrated marketing efforts to close that gap between platinum desire and acquisition. The opportunity is vast!”
Platinum jewelry provides an incremental profit opportunity and can increase the average ticket transaction for the jewelry industry in its entirety. The fact that it’s the most secure setting for diamonds and gemstones ensures its lasting value. Platinum is a win-win for both consumers and the industry alike.
