Arkansas Jewelers Association names Stanley 2010 Retail Jeweler of the Year

Laura V. Stanley of Stanley Jewelers in North Little Rock has been named Arkansas Jewelers Association Retailer of the Year for 2010.

Stanley is a third-generation jeweler who is a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America and a Certified Gemologist Appraiser with the American Gem Society. She recently earned a master’s degree in business administration at Webster University.

AGA Officers and Board of Directors elected for the 2011-2013 term

The Accredited Gemologists Association (AGA) is pleased to announce the results from their recent election. The association’s constitution requires a simple majority of the total number of valid votes cast by the voting membership of the Association. This year’s ballot also contained a proposed change to the constitution.

AGTA announces election results for 2011 Board of Directors

(DALLAS, Tex.) - The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) announced the results of their 2011 AGTA Board of Directors elections.  Robert Bentley of Robert Bentley Company, Betty Sue King of King’s Ransom, Gerry Manning of Manning International, Bill Larson of Pala International and Niveet Nagpal of Omi Gems, Inc. were all elected to three-year terms as Directors.  These terms will take effect at the 2011 AGTA Board of Directors Meeting in Tucson.

(NEW YORK) – Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) is partnering with eBay, the world’s largest online marketplace, to tackle organized jewelry crime. This unique partnership between JSA and eBay provides for greater information sharing to further support the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as state and local law enforcement agencies, working in partnership with jewelry loss prevention professionals.

Jewelers of America welcomes new Board Directors

(NEW YORK) - Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry retail marketplace, welcomed three new industry leaders to its Board of Directors at its Board meeting on July 24, in New York. The new directors are John Henne, owner of Henne Jewelers; Brian P. Mann, vice president and co-owner of David Mann Jewelers; and Teresa Saldivar, owner of Teresa’s Jewelers.
