(DUBLIN, Ohio) – The Mid-America Jewelers Association (MAJA) announced they ceased operations as of October 2020. Founded in 1971, the MAJA was established to foster and promote the advocacy, business ethics and educational interests of jewelers in Ohio and contiguous states.
According to Patrick Pugh, Pugh’s Diamond Jewelers, the decision was difficult, but the organization believed it had run its course. Through a letter to the industry, Pugh expressed gratitude for the years of great memories through jewelry shows, educational opportunities, meetings, etc. He went on to thank all of the Association’s friends, associates and vendors.
The MAJA made a $7,753 donation from their remaining funds split between Jewelers for Children and Ohio Jewelers Education Foundation (OJEF).
