Jewelry designer and artist Reena Ahluwalia is renowned for her paintings of highly nuanced, hyper-realistic diamonds with ultra-magnified facets.
Noted jewelry designer and artist Reena Ahluwalia has donated two original, museum quality paintings to be auctioned at the Jewelers for Children (JFC) Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas. The paintings, Portal of Empowerment and Brilliance Pink Diamond, show highly nuanced, hyper-realistic diamonds with ultra-magnified facets.

Ahluwalia is a multiple award-winning Canadian Jewelry designer, diamond painter and educator. Coveted internationally by jewelry and art collectors, she is recognized as one of the top masters of jewelry design in Canada. She has won numerous national and international awards, including the coveted De Beers Diamonds International Award, Rio Tinto Diamonds Global Design Competition and the Tahitian Pearl Trophy.

“My paintings are very personal to me and each one is unique creation that has its own personality,” said Ahluwalia. “Knowing that the sale of them will benefit children who need the most help is truly gratifying for me and a wonderful recognition of my work.”

Both paintings will be on display during the event for potential bidders to view up close. Portal of Empowerment is valued at $20,000 on the collector’s market and Radiate Brilliance is valued at  $10,000.

“Having a talent such as Reena provide these beautiful paintings to benefit Jewelers for Children is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for the charity,” said David Rocha, executive director.  “So many more children will be helped due to her generosity and huge heart.”

The Facets of Hope event will take place on Wednesday, June 7, in the South Seas Ballroom at Mandalay Bay Resort Casino. The paintings will be on display during the cocktail reception starting at 6:00 p.m. and during the dinner and program. Anyone interested in presenting a reserve bid before the event can contact JFC at 212-687-2949 or www.jewelersforchildren.org.

JFC 1

Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, JFC has donated more than $51 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse or neglect through charity partners St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Make-A-Wish® America, and the National CASA Association. JFC also provides support to Make-A-Wish® International, and the Santa-America Fund. This nationwide success is due to the continuing generosity of jewelry trade organizations, jewelry and watch manufacturing companies, jewelry retail stores, individual jewelry professionals and jewelry consumers.
