Robert (Bob) Spragins passed away January 22, 2023 in Plano, Texas surrounded by his wife, Linda, children and grandchildren.
Bob was a sales representative and sales manager for the jewelry industry for over 40 years. He started his jewelry career in the accounting office of Stuckey Diamonds. He soon realized that sales representative had more potential than working in the office. He went to work for Everwed Jewelry as a rep.
He started his own company, Lone Star Diamond, Inc., in 1982. He ran it successfully for over 10 years before deciding to scale back his scope of work and “just” be a sales representative for other companies. Bob represented many companies as a rep and/or sales manager, including Stuckey Diamonds, Lovebright Diamonds, Dynamic Designs and ASHI Diamonds. His passion in business was selling and developing relationships with his customers.
“He was a diamond in the jewelry industry and will be dearly missed by all that knew and worked with him,” said Mr. Pandya, partner at ASHI Diamonds. “He was the best of his generation that America produced.”
Bob believed that to be a success you should be honest, fulfill your promises and maintain good communication with your customers and the companies you represented. He always went above and beyond what was required of him. He was a happy “workaholic”, always eager to share his knowledge with others, and always seeking more knowledge of the industry for himself. He developed many friendships within the industry, and he treasured each one.
Bob was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1959-1962 reaching the rank of SP5 E5. He credited the Army with giving him structure and developing his work ethic.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Linda, 4 children, Kim Willis, Robert Spragins II, Kyle Spragins and Kelli Spragins, and two grandchildren, Reese and Max Spragins who loved their “Papa” dearly.
