Colored Moissanite growing in popularity

GSA Diamond Collection

(ATLANTA) – Gemstones Atelier (GSA) has reported a sharp increase in the sales of colored Moissanite. While Moissanite may have been frowned upon during the early days of its introduction to the market, it is now a new gemstone moving up the ranks of popularity, especially for the colored gemstone market. Nowadays, Moissanite has become an increasingly popular stone with people concerned about ethical and environmental issues. Grown in a laboratory, colored Moissanite has similar qualities to diamonds and can be a great choice for any jewelry, especially engagement rings.

“We are not only dedicated to providing the best price and service to our customers, but we are also committed to environmental responsibility throughout our gemstone and jewelry production processes,” says Kaye Hartman, CEO of Gemstones Atelier. “We look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we possibly can.”

Retailed at $300 per carat, Moissanite is reasonably priced and considerably less expensive than lab-grown diamonds, generally priced at around $900 per carat. If you’re looking for natural diamonds, the price can be in the upwards of $5,000. Colored diamonds are usually even more expensive than colorless diamonds, making Moissanite an attractive option for wholesalers, designers and jewelry manufacturers looking for hard colored stones.

“Moissanite is better than most precious stones because it is harder and displays better optical qualities and brilliance than any other precious stone,” says Hartman. Its superior hardness makes it ideal for every day jewelry as well as heirloom jewelry or engagement rings due to its superior resistance to scratching, chipping and breaking. “Our Moissanites are cut and polished better than the majority of the gemstones commonly sold in engagement rings,” said Hartman. “Our team of  stone cutters and polishers have an accumulated 75 years’ of experience.”

Unlike other precious stone alternatives that can cloud and dull over time, GSA colored Moissanite is grown with colors. It comes with a lifetime guarantee that it will never change in color or lose its optical properties. “GSA Moissanite will remain as lustrous and brilliant as the day it was created.” said Hartman.

“Moissanite is not mined, so it is a conscientious gemstone and our lab uses mostly renewable energy,” she said. “So even though GSA Moissanite is lab-grown, it is made using the most natural source of energy, wind and sunshine.”

Whether you’re a jewelry designer looking for new materials or a manufacturer trying to stay on top of current trends, you may want to take a look at Moissanite. Its growing popularity is a good sign that this scintillating stone is not going anywhere. “If you find yourself looking for a reputable grower and wholesaler, Gemstones Atelier is ready to introduce you to the gorgeous world of  Moissanite,” said Hartman.
