Cindy Stewart, owner of Independent Diamond, Inc. and Southern Star Trading, Tulsa, OK, died on November 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Batesville, Ark. on October 11, 1957, she was 58 years old.
Cindy was a graduate of the Gem City School of Jewelry in Quincy, IL and received a Graduate Gemologist degree from GIA.
Upon graduation from GIA she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she started her career in the jewelry industry. As the owner of Independent Diamond Inc. (IDI) and Southern Star Trading, Cindy made many lifelong friends and was highly respected in the jewelry business.
Cindy was married to her high school sweetheart, Danny Lynn Stewart. The couple had two sons, Sidney Porter Stewart and Nathan Lee Stewart and was a second mother to Victoria (Tori) Jane Lieberman.
A portion of Cindy’s obituary reads: “To know Cindy was to love her. Cindy’s smile was always available and she brought happiness to all that knew her. We will miss her and that ever-present smile greatly. Cindy would want us to honor her by living our lives with the same zest and joyful enthusiasm she had for life.”
Cindy’s funeral was held November 25 at the First Presbyterian Church of Batesville, Ark.
