You may not know the name Jim Rabon, but you may know the name Speedbrite. In 1984, Jim founded Windsor Gallery Jewelers in Salisbury, NC. In 1991, Jim built his version of an electrocleaner, miniaturized for jewelry repair and inventory maintenance. The unit was used in his retail store and the casting department. This was Speedbrite 200, the first of four models.
With the help of his Daughter Kristen, one employee and a college student he produced the first model. He packed his car with samples and visited many jewelry supply dealers from North Carolina to California. Most were interested, and the rest is history.
After years of battling cancer, Jim passed away on August 21, 2022. Speedbrite will continue operations in his memory.
