Report returns for the first time since 2012
(NEW YORK) – National Jeweler has released the “State of the Majors,” a report which analyzes the performance of the country’s largest jewelers and the state of jewelry retailing today. The release of this once-annual report marks the first time National Jeweler has published editorial content in print since 2010.
The report, last published in 2012 analyzing 2011 sales figures, returns in both print and online versions. “It is so exciting to be back in print, particularly with an industry staple like ‘The State of the Majors,’” National Jeweler Editor-in-Chief Michelle Graff said. “We know it is a valuable resource that has been missed over the past few years.”
In keeping with prior reports, The State of the Majors consists of two separate lists, which analyzes 2015 sales data. The $100 Million Supersellers ranks the United States’ largest jewelers by annual sales, including both specialty jewelers and multi-line retailers. The Top 50 North American Retail Jewelry Chains list ranks specialty jewelers by number of stores.
The report also contains in-depth analysis articles that cover three other important sectors of the U.S. jewelry market including the State of the Diamond Industry, State of the Colored Stone Market and State of Jewelry Design.
“The State of the Majors is an important barometer that had been missing from our industry. Although it was a big undertaking, we felt it was the right time and we had the right people in place to do it justice,” says National Jeweler Publisher Matthew Tratner.
