(RALEIGH, N.C.) – Members of the North Carolina Jewelers Association (NCJA) Board of Directors recently voted to reinstate the statewide design competition to its membership.
“Winners of the North Carolina competition will go on to be represented at the Jewelers of America national competition,” said Wally Hinkamp, President of the Association. “There will be five categories (based on the cost of materials used): $1,000 and under; $1,001-$3,000; $3,001 and over; a Buyer’s Choice Award, in addition to these categories, there will be a Freestyle category (no Cad cam) for designs that are wholly handcrafted.”
The competition will be judged at the annual Convention, April 24-26, 2009 at the Marriott Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach.
