Family of Holocaust survivors share lessons for moving past COVID

(NEW YORK) – “It came back to me. My parents went through the Holocaust. They lost the family, their business. They never complained about what happened.”

Weisz DavidDavid Weisz

These words come from a powerful new video – SURVIVE!, produced by David Weisz & Sons, to help inspire jewelry businesses to move onward from the devastating effects of the COVID pandemic.

In the video David Weisz, patriarch of the family business, continues: “They had the numbers (tattoos) on their arms, which they refused to take off. They wanted to show us, even with all of that suffering, we’ll come out a lot better and stronger than before.”

Weisz EMTYoely and Zisha Weisz volunteered as EMTs for an ambulance corps in New York, working on the front lines for a solid three weeks. This family knows how to survive. David’s two sons, Yoely and Zisha, volunteer as EMTs for an ambulance corps in New York and at the peak of the crisis were working on the front lines for a solid three weeks.

“We saw a lot of scary things. We didn’t even have time to stop for a second and think about it,” says a somber Yoely in the video.

And now the Weisz family wants to help jewelry businesses apply the lessons of the Holocaust to the pain of this current crisis.

“Concentrate on how to help others,” David shares. “By helping others, you get motivated and automatically you help yourself.”

Zisha adds: “Reaching out to each and every customer, to see how they are, to see how their families are.”

David Weisz & Sons has set up the SURVIVE! support program for jewelry businesses struggling with the effects of the COVID pandemic. Open to customers and non-customers, the SURVIVE! support program includes: free COVID store safety signage with store logos, free custom logo facemasks, co-op funds for marketing, free email marketing training, inventory buyback programs and extended terms, along with a range of other options to help jewelry business regain momentum.
