A film crew from Public Television for central Illinois station WTVP, recently filmed scenes at Parsec Enterprises’ facility in Peoria, for the upcoming documentary detailing the life of Lydia Moss Bradley, the woman who was the prime force in the establishment of Bradley Polytechnic, the nation’s first watchmaking school in Peoria in 1897.
The crew interviewed watchmakers Mark Hinrichsen and Tim Evans, senior watchmakers at Parsec, as they worked on vintage pocket watches from the original Peoria Watch Co., and current high-line chronographs, comparing the historic timepieces with today’s fine timekeepers. Also, interviewed was Parsec Enterprises’ co-founder, Marc Young, about the coincidences of Parsec’s establishment in Peoria, IL, home, too, of Bradley Polytechnic, now Bradley University.
Parsec Enterprises, one of the largest watch repair centers in the United States, has serviced over 3 million watches in its 40+ year history. For more information call 800-359-2508 or visit www.parsecent.com.
