Carol Young, executive director of the Atlanta Jewelry Show, takes a few minutes to let us know what we have to look forward to at the upcoming show, August 6-8. Register online at www.atlantajewelryshow.com.
SJN: The Atlanta Jewelry Show opens its doors in just a few days.
CY: Yes, and we are ready! There’s a lot of excitement around this show.
SJN: What are some of the things the independent jeweler can look forward to seeing?
CY: We’ve taken on the mantra, ‘If its new, it’s here.’ We believe jewelers will be inspired by the new products and emerging trends they’ll find at the show. Our Point of View designer gallery is fantastic. To us, ‘new’ also means new ideas and programs, too.
SJN: What are some of the innovations at the show that will directly benefit independent jewelers?
CY: The Loupe is one of the most valuable programs we offer. Loupe members can take advantage of the latest tools, business growth opportunities, marketing services and educational resources offered by the programs’ growing list of partners. We’ve been able to secure some great pricing and we want to pass those perks on to our attendees. The Loupe is all about preparing to move confidently into the future.
SJN: How do attendees join The Loupe?
CY: It’s easy – just register for The Loupe during the show. I can’t say enough about the response we’ve gotten from The Loupe, and how much we appreciate Stuller for sponsoring the program. Their live bench demos are incredibly popular.
SJN: Will The Loupe keep evolving?
CY: Yes, that’s the mission of The Loupe – to always be looking forward. We’ve added a new dimension to The Loupe for August we’re calling 10x Sessions. These are short pop up learning sessions of no more than 15 minutes that focus on best practices and latest trends. These sessions are power-packed with inspiration and information!
SJN: Mingle! is your networking event that takes place every evening, and is open to all show attendees. How important is networking to this group?
CY: The term networking has been around a long time, but the advantages of talking with friends and industry peers who are experiencing the same successes and challenges is as important as ever. It may be called networking, but to us it’s Southern hospitality!
SJN: Any thoughts for our readers before the show begins?
CY: The Atlanta Jewelry Show is committed to our retailers and members. We are a strong community. We invite independent jewelers to attend our show, and see for themselves the benefits we offer. We’re enthusiastic about the future for our industry, and look forward to seeing everyone in Atlanta, August 6-8!
