Scholarships on leading industry education available from JA

(NEW YORK) – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, makes professional development affordable for its members by funding scholarships on renowned industry education. The scholarships can cover up to 60% of the cost of leading diploma, jewelry courses and certification programs. JA will award 2014 scholarships from February 1 through September 30, 2014, and industry professionals are encouraged to apply.

“Jewelers of America is thrilled to help aspiring members of the trade achieve greater professional development from top industry education through our scholarship program. The JA Scholarships are a valuable benefit that often far exceeds the cost of annual membership and make additional jewelry training an affordable, realistic option for our member companies and their employees,” says JA Director of Public Affairs & Education Susan Thea Posnock.

JA Scholarships are available from leading industry education providers, including:

• Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Distance Education eLearning Course

• Diamond Council of America (DCA) home-study courses

• Jewelers Education Foundation of American Gem Society (JEF)

Scholarships are also offered for Jewelers of America’s Bench Professional Certification program, covering up to 60% of all fees.

Scholarships are open to employees at JA-Member stores who are at least 18 years of age. Download the scholarship application at www.jewelers.org > Education & Certification > Scholarships.
