Bill Roof 1941 – 2017
William “Bill” Roof passed away suddenly on March 10, 2017 in Columbia, SC. Roof was the second generation owner of Roof Jewelers, which was founded in 1943.
Bill was a self-taught watchmaker and jeweler with a natural gift for sales. He never met a stranger and would say with a smile “never mind what they want – sell ‘em what you’ve got.” Bill is survived by Pat, his wife of 56 years along with sons William and Patrick, (third generation owners) their wives and six grandchildren.
