So, That’s Where the Money Goes
Speaker: Tom Shay, CSP, Profits Plus Solutions, Inc, 2:00-3:15 pm, Room 104
“So, That’s Where the Money Goes,” a comment made by an attendee after hearing Tom Shay share this presentation, is exactly what you’ll understand after attending! The business owner looks at the bottom line of a profit and loss statement to see how much money the business made. Yet, when that same owner looks at the checking account, the number is different. If the business is making a profit, why isn’t all of that money sitting in the checking account? This session will help you learn why this happens and how to get better control of it.

Cutting Edge: Effective Marketing Strategies to Drive Your Sales
Speaker: Rick Arnemann, CEO, Harmon Group, 1:45 – 2:45 pm, Room 104
Join Rick Arnemann as he outlines two complete marketing campaigns and how you can successfully implement them in your store to drive to traffic and increase sales, including pricing structures and step-by-step guides to follow. The first, a social campaign built around couples getting engaged and providing incentives for couples to participate, targets millennial bridal consumers – illustrating how to capture this lucrative target market and build a reputation as a preferred and trusted retailer. The second campaign is centered on consumers transforming old pieces of jewelry into new, modernized pieces – a great way to attract people who aren’t necessarily shopping for jewelry back into the retail stores. In addition, Rick will discuss a number of other easy, cost-effective, out-of-the-box ideas to help drive consumers to your store.
Profitable Repair Work
Presented by: Tom Weishaar, Underwood’s Fine Jewelers, 3:00 – 4:00 pm, Room 103
Today, many jewelry store owners view their repair department as a loss leader rather than the profit center it can be. During this practical, insightful program, Tom Weishaar will highlight the five most common errors made by jewelry stores when organizing their repair shops and how to correct them. He will cover topics such as quality of repairs, meeting your customers’ expectations, proper take-in procedures, estimating and pricing repair work. In addition to the proven tips and valuable strategies Tom will share, each attendee will also receive a CD containing helpful tools like estimate sheets, full pricing guide and other information which you can take back and put to use in your store right away.
