The Thailand Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), in collaboration with the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) are finalizing preparation to host the 68th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, September 6-10, 2023, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
Mr. Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, Director-General of the Thai Department of International Trade Promotion, said: “The Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair has long served as an important trade platform to drive the gems and jewelry industry in Thailand and the world. Organizing the 67th event in the past year marked the first time that DITP and GIT, two agencies under the Ministry of Commerce, have collaborated on the event, which received excellent feedback and an 82 percent increase in the number of visitors. Also, the event attracted 30 percent more exhibitors than expected. This year’s 68th Bangkok Gems Fair is considered an important milestone as it represents the 40th anniversary of the event. It is expected to drive growth in Thailand’s gem and jewelry exports by no less than 10 percent.”
Mr. Sumed Prasongphongchai, Director of GIT touched on the organizations’ readiness, saying: “DITP and GIT are preparing to host the 68th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair as a grand event to celebrate its 40th anniversary, highlighting Thailand’s capacity as the world’s gem and jewelry trading center. What’s special about this event is that we shifted the venue to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, located in the heart of Bangkok. We expect that this change will be more convenient for exhibitors while making it easier for visitors to access the event.” In addition, Mr. Sumed revealed that almost 100 percent of the exhibition space has been booked.
