(ATLANTA) – Steady attendance numbers coupled with serious buyers writing larger orders created a successful event for executive director Libby Brown, and the Spring 2018 Atlanta Jewelry Show (AJS).
The redesigned show floor plan, which debuted a year ago, continued to be a hit with both buyers and vendors. Created to engage attendees in a relaxed and inviting show experience, the plan includes a central Plaza area, complete with a full-service bar and concierge assistance. The mood throughout the show was upbeat, and matched the atmosphere created by the Atlanta Jewelry Show on-site DJ and the new “Live with AJS” host set, featuring industry expert Robert Manse interviewing featured designers and attendees from near and far.

The expanded educational offerings and its AJS Certified Jeweler program, saw healthy gains as well. Cindy Chandler, Director of Education for the Atlanta Jewelry Show was thrilled with the number of attendees who participated in the educational opportunities over the 3-day event. “I am always amazed at the fresh content speakers bring to the AJS education,” Chandler said. “We had a great blend of new speakers, industry favorites, roundtables, and panels as well. All provided information, inspiration, and ideas. As a retail geek, I love building the AJS education content. I am currently working on the August show and would love to hear what topics our audience is interested in. Social media is at the top of my list!

“Attendance during our pre-show educational program on Friday, March 2, which featured 20 seminars on a wide range of topics, was up significantly in comparison to March of 2017, when we first introduced the Friday pre-show conference schedule. It is great to see so many of our Atlanta Jewelry Show attendees benefitting from this additional day of events.
“I want to thank all of the speakers and experts that provided the March education content! And I also want to extend a special thank you to our AJS education sponsors Stuller, Diamond Council of America and Synchrony, and our AJS vendors, who help make this program possible.”
For the first time, the show, which prides itself on being community oriented and serving the independent retail jeweler, opened its doors to the next generation of future jewelers. The AJS Kids Jewelry Camp made its debut, and turned out to be a wildly successful event. The camp, which took place on Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4, featured educational programs and hands-on, kid-friendly events and were enjoyed by nearly 20 children over the 2-day period.

Libby Brown stated: “We are thrilled with the outcome of the Spring Show. The energy of the show was positive, upbeat and business was robust. We look forward to bringing even more excitement to the August edition which will feature a variety of new designers and vendors, AJS Kids Jewelry Camp and much more. We hope that you will join us!”
