The Biggest Missed Sale: The Add-On Sale - How & When To Do It!
Speaker:  Shane Decker, President, Ex-Sell-Ence, Shane Decker Sales Academy

12:15  - 1:30 pm, Room 103

The add-on is the biggest missed sale in our industry.  Clients quit buying when salespeople quit selling.  Less than 10% of sales tickets written, outside of Pandora, have an add-on.  Point of sale has become a sale killer.  As soon as the first item is sold, the sales associate walks to the computer.  This tells the client that the sale is over!  The average add-on takes only thirty seconds.  Come and learn about the three types of add-on sales; how to professionally make them happen; the use of the lead in line to keep the sale going; and how to increase Christmas sales by becoming a master at the add-on ticket.  We will also discuss add-on contests in your store so your sales associates will be motived to become add-on minded.

Speaker: Edward  Lewand, GG, ASA, AAA, independent appraiser;  Director, Antique Jewelry & Art Conference, Inc.

Has the industry changed or just society?  Antique jewelry is unique. It is “feel good” jewelry - something a beloved grandmother treasured or a special aunt wore. Rekindle those memories when customers see these types of designs in your store.  Increasingly popular with the under-40 audience, antique and estate jewelry is truly an emerging market with a very high profit margin. During this fast-moving presentation, Edward Lewand will  arm you with the information and tools you need to tap into the profit-potential the category offers. Lewand will also cover a solid overview of different periods; marks and markets today; how to value and appraise items; trading and much more.
