(LAS VEGAS) – Ever since its inception in 1996, AGS Laboratories® has graded only white diamonds. That is no longer the case, as the management at AGS Laboratories announced that they have added brown diamonds to their grading services.
The new AGS Laboratories Colored Diamond Document presents the technical aspects and nuances of fancy colored diamond grading with content and graphics that are easy to understand – as well as easy to communicate – to the jewelry buyer. The AGS Laboratories Colored Diamond Document combines visual language with an intuitive design to communicate the qualities of a diamond consistent with how people perceive color – with not only their eyes, but their emotions.
AGS Laboratories sought to create a report that was not only an extension of their mission of consumer protection, but also supports their commitment to meet their clients’ diamond grading needs. Therefore, the consumer-friendly report doubles as a useful sales tool for the retailer and the supplier.
“We decided to embark on the grading of brown diamonds because there was a need in the market,” said Jason Quick, Laboratory Director at AGS Laboratories. “Brown diamonds are beautiful and are gaining traction as an accessible entry point for fancy colored diamonds. Our Colored Diamond Document takes a new approach to communicating color that jewelry buyers can easily understand.”
