Hoover & Strong has announced they will start offering 360 degree interactive views of all diamonds featured in their online Harmony Diamond Auctions, starting November 2015.
“As our Harmony Diamond Auctions gain momentum, we found it is crucial to offer our buyers a comprehensive and interactive view of the diamonds offered, so they are comfortable bidding and offering the most competitive prices,” said Torry Hoover, President of Hoover & Strong. “We have had much interest from international buyers who were hesitant of participating in the auctions, and we believe the interactive views will encourage many new buyers to come on board, thus offering higher prices to our sellers.”
The 360 degree views will be powered by DiaCam360, a small, portable and effective scanning device that creates high-quality photos and 360-degree, interactive videos of polished diamonds. The device is patent pending in the US, and according to Shirtal DiaCam Ltd, the developer of the device, it offers comparable pictures to ones that are produced in a professional studio.
Hoover & Strong launched its unique online diamond auction platform in January 2015. The auction platform has gained momentum and growth with its quick, seamless and transparent auction process. The auctions are held twice a month and feature single diamonds larger than 0.40 ct or parcels of diamonds larger than 0.20 ct with a minimum carat weight of 1.00 ct. All diamonds are inspected, graded and cataloged by Hoover & Strong and all bidding is done online through the unique platform.
