The International School of Gemology (ISG) has announced the launch of their new gemology classroom facilities starting October, 2023. The expansion allows ISG students to get back to hands-on classroom learning and will be located in ISG’s historic building located in Old Town Helotes, Texas, 2 miles west of San Antonio. The new classroom facility will offer an opportunity for students to work on a wide variety of subjects, and get hands-on experience with ISG’s Enwave Raman, UV-VIS-NIR, Sarine DiaVue, Meiji Techno advanced microscope and more. Upcoming class schedule will include:
- Introduction to Gemology
- Basic Gem Identification
- Advanced Gem Identification
- Created and Treated Gemstones – sponsored by Chatham Created Gems
- Pearls and Pearl Stringing
- Diamond Grading and Evaluation
- Lab Created and Treated Diamond Study
- Personal Property Appraisal
- Litigation and Expert Witness for Appraisers and more
Students will also be able to use the classroom to complete their practicals and final exam requirements for the ISG Registered Gemologist Appraiser and Registered Gemologist diplomas on a fast track.
Courses will begin in mid-October. The ISG was originally an Allied Teaching Centre of the Gem-A. ISG courses have been peer reviewed and certified by the Texas Department of Insurance and other states by reciprocity. ISG offers world-class gemology and jewelry appraisal training at an affordable tuition cost, now with both online and classroom study available.
