The International School of Gemology (ISG) has announced major changes in their PDF course file structure that allows students to have the course notes read to them by Adobe Reader – which is required and free from Adobe – for those with various levels of dyslexia or other related study challenges.
All ISG Students can utilize this new structure by visiting the Introduction page of each course and going to the Course Directory at the bottom of each page. Click on the Read It to Me PDF link on each page. Then download, save, and open the newly structured ISG PDF course files. Then go to the top left drop-down menu and click on VIEW. In that drop-down menu, go to “Read Aloud” and follow instructions. Students can choose to listen to the entire course at once, or read portions as time allows.
“We trust that this new structure will take the majority of the stress and problems out of studying written course notes for those challenged students,” ISG President Robert James, FGA, GG released in a statement. “This new feature is our care and response to those who have voiced concerns over their ability to study written course notes. Until I heard from you all I did not realize how prevalent this situation was for so many. I hope this helps.”
