(CHICAGO) – Chicago-based Mid-States Recycling & Refining is proud to announce the release of “CHICAGO” – the first city in their “City Series” Fine Silver coins. Each CHICAGO coin is 1 troy ounce, .999 fine silver, and features the Chicago skyline.
Jack Brown, Sales and Operations Manager for Mid-States, offered his insights on the release of the CHICAGO coin and future plans for the full Mid-States City Series.
Q: What was the inspiration for the Mid-States City Series?
A: We wanted to create something new and unique, something we haven’t seen before, something that would excite our customers. We also wanted to expand Mid-States’ recognition to featured cities and geographies across the U.S.
Q: Why Chicago first?
A: With Chicago being home to Mid-States for over 30 years, it is our most established market. We wanted to offer a tribute to the city that started it all for Mid-States.
Q: What’s next for the City Series?
A: New York will be our next Mid-States City Series coin, available this summer. After that, we’ll be releasing additional cities over the coming months with at least 10 U.S. cities planned in total.
Q: Where and how can the CHICAGO coin be purchased?
A: Jewelers and other customers can obtain our CHICAGO City Series coins as bullion in return of their scrap metal. The coins are also available for direct purchase in any quantity, by wholesale and retail jewelers and dealers of precious metal.
Q: Where is Mid-States located in Chicago?
A: In addition to our main facility in Des Plaines, IL, just northwest of the city of Chicago, we also have a second location in the heart of Chicago’s downtown Jewelers Row at 5 S. Wabash. And through our Mid-States’ Concierge delivery services, including fully-insured Federal Express shipping, we also service jewelers and dealers across the country.
